Picture Polish: Paris & Grace

Lakkalaatikoissa pyörii tällä hetkellä muutama Picture Polish, jotka haluavat kovasti päästä kynsille. Siksipä ajattelin tehdä jonkinlaiset swatchit muutamista lakoista saadakseni niihin vähän tuntumaa. Tässä postauksessa tähtinä ovat siis Paris ja Grace.

Picture Polishin Paris eroaa jo ulkonäöllisesti muista merkin pulloista. Yleensä lakoissa on tekstiä lakan nimen päällä, jonkinlainen kuvaus lakasta. Parisin pullossa sen sijaan on kuvia Pariisista, erilaisia nähtävyyksiä. Samanlainen ratkaisu on myös Picturen lakassa Moscow. Paris on Collaborations 2015-kokoelmasta, lakan on suunnitellut QuicheGirl. Parisista tehtiin tänä vuonna Reborn -versio mistä jätettiin pois alkuperäisen lakan neonpigmentit, alkuperäinen versio on siis ainakin omaan silmääni huomattavasti kirkkaampi.

Paris on sävyltään kovin erilainen kuin lakat joita nykyään yleensä hankin. Lämpimät lakat harvemmin toimivat omalla ihollani, mutta aikani pähkäiltyäni en voinut enää välttää tämän lakan ostamista. Kuvassa kynsillä on pohjalakka, kolme kerrosta Parisia ja päällyslakka. Kaksi kerrostakin peitti melko hyvin, mutta kynsien kasvuraja näkyi liikaa, joten päädyin vielä kolmanteen kerrokseen. Lakassa on glitteriä ja holoefektiä. Holo on scattered holoa eli selviä linjoja ei näy kuten esimerkiksi Color Clubin Halo Hues -hololakoissa, jotka ovat lineaarisia holoja.

Picture Polishin Grace on myös scattered hololakka joka on nimetty prinsessan mukaan. Sävyltään sanoisin tämän olevan savuinen vaaleanpunainen. Savuisuutensa vuoksi lakka ei juurikaan omilta kynsiltäni kauas näy eli on juuri sopiva lakka, jos haluaa hieman hillitymmän lookin. Hillitty olemus ei kuitenkaan vie lakan kauneutta yhtään pois. Lakkaa on kynsillä kolme kerrosta, neljättäkin kerrosta jäin pohtimaan. Lakan haaleuden takia voi helposti ainakin kuvitella näkevänsä tuon kynnen kasvurajan lakan alta. Grace on Opulence Shades -kokoelmasta vuodelta 2014. Oikeanlaisella koristelulla tästäkin lakasta saa varmasti paljon enemmän irti kuin vain yksivärisellä lakkauksella.

Leimaukset ovat Born Pretty Storelta testiin saadusta laatasta BP-34. Jälleen kerran laadukas laatta ja täynnä kivoja perhoskuvioita, joita varmasti tulee blogissa vielä näkymään monet kerrat. In my nail polish storage is currently few Picture Polishes that are longing to get on nails. So I thought I would make few swatches. In this post I have Paris and Grace to show you.

Picture Polishes Paris' bottle looks different than other bottles from the same brand. Normally they have some text on top of the polishes name, but Paris has pictures of Paris sights. Same brand's Moscow's bottle has the same thing. Paris is from the Collaborations 2015 collection, designed by QuicheGirl. This year they made a reborn version of Paris which doesn't have any neon pigments in it. So at least to my eye the older version is much more brighter. Paris' shade is different from those polishes I normally buy. Warmer shades rarely work with my skintone. After thinking about this polish for so long I couldn't not buy it. There's base coat, three layers of Paris and top coat on my nails. Two layers covered the nails pretty well, but the nails' growth was showing too much so I ended up with three layers of polish. There's glitter and holo effect on this polish, the holo is scattered so there isn't so clear lines like for example in Color Club's linear holo polishes in the Halo Hues collection.

Picture Polishes Grace is also a scattered holo polish, named after the princess. I would say this polish is a smoky light pink. Because of the smokiness of this polish it doesn't stand out very well from my skintone. So this polish is perfect if I want a more settle polish on my nails. It doesn't take away anything from this polish. There's three layers of this polish, I thought about a fourth. Since the polishes shade is so light, you could easily at least think that you can see the growth of the nail underneath. This polish is from Opulence Shades -collection from the year 2014. With the right kind of decoration you can get a lot more out of this polish than just with the polish by itself.

The stamping image is from a Born Pretty Store plate I got for review. The plate is BP-34, once again plate with a great quality and filled with pretty butterflies. Jotain huomaamatonta

Välillä on kynsiensä kanssa matkalla sellaiseen tilanteeseen, että kynsien täytyy olla melko huomaamattomat. Yksi sellainen tilanne oli edessä ja halusin kynsien näyttävän kivoilta, mutta kuitenkin melko hienovaraisilta. Lakkauksen ei tarvinnut olla täysin näkymätön, mutta kuitenkin sellainen, että se ei hyppäisi ensimmäisenä silmille. Neonit ja tummat värit suljin siis heti pois.

Mitä et tee lakalla, jonka tiedät olevan kovin ohutta ja huonosti peittävää? Liukuväriä. Mutta minäpä tein, enkä todellakaan tiedä mitä päässä sillä hetkellä liikkui. Jos olisin edes tajunnut lakata pohjaväriksi Picture Polishin Gracen ja tehdä sen varsinaisen liu'un valkoisella, mutta ei. Vasta oikean käden kohdalla tajusin toimia näin. Etenkään peukalon liukuväri ei kyllä liukuväriä oikein jaksa muistuttaa. Tämä lakkaus hoiti kuitenkin hommansa, oli tarpeeksi huomaamaton mutta kuitenkin leimoineen ihan perusnätti, joten sai kynsille päiväksi jäädä.

Leimakukat ovat MoYou Londonin Pro 08 -laatasta, joka on täynnä erilaisia kukkakuvioita. Tässä leimassa näkyy myös oksia kun oikein tarkasti katsoo. Samalla tämä kuvio vahvistaa haluani tehdä kirsikkapuu -kynnet. Onneksi kevät ja kesä antavat paljon tilaisuuksia siihen.

Sometimes you're in a situation where your nail art needs to be rather unnoticeable. I had one of those situations coming and I needed my nails to look nice but still subtle. My nails didn't need to be completely invisible, but I wanted them not to be the first thing you see. So neons and dark polishes were put away fast.

What is the thing you don't do with a polish that doesn't cover nails well and you know to be very thin? A gradient. And what did I do? A gradient. I really don't know what I was thinking at that moment. If I had even had the wisdom to use Picture Polishes Grace as the polish on the base, but instead I used the white, Essie's Blanc. I realized this only when I was doing my right hand's nails. Especially the gradient on my left hand thumb isn't really a gradient. Otherwise these nails did their job, they were very subtle but pretty, so I kept these nails for a day. Those stamping flowers are from MoYou London's Pro 08 -plate. That plate is filled with different flower images. When you look closely, you can see some branches in this stamp. This image only made me want to do a cherry blossom branch -nail art more and more. Luckily spring and summer gives me a lot of chances to do just that. Have you ever been in situations where your nails needed to be unnoticable?
