Äitienpäivä kynsiblogissa

Kyllä - olen täysin tietoinen Äitienpäivän todellisesta ajankohdasta. Marraskuussa blogissa pyörähti kynsille maalaamani mökkimaisema Isänpäivän kunniaksi. Äitienpäivän postausta ei ollut mahdollista saada ulos aiemmin, koska olin kerrankin viettämättä tuota päivää kotona äidin kanssa. Siksipä toteamme, että parempi myöhään kun ei milloinkaan ja siirrymme asiassa eteenpäin. Äitienpäivän kynsiin on ollut idea melko selkeänä päässä jo pidemmän aikaa. Äiti pitää sinisestä ja tekee töitä kukkien kanssa, joten mikäpä sen osuvampaa kuin yhdistää äitienpäivä, kukat ja sininen väri. Äidille ostettu korttikin oli tänä vuonna sininen, joten pysytään siis teemassa.

Tätä postausta kirjoittaessa kuulokkeista pauhaa Nightwishin uusin levy eli Endless Forms Most Beautiful. Siitä mieleen tulee se, että äidin kanssa on kierretty melko paljon keikkoja, ehkä unohtumattomampana Robbie Williamsin parin vuoden takainen Tallinnan konsertti, jossa päästiin eturiviin asti (ja josta haaveilin sen 10 vuotta). Olenkin hirveän onnellinen siitä, että meidän äidin kanssa voi suunnitella reissun Williamsin konserttiin tai aikoinaan The Rasmuksen keikalle Tammerfestiin. Itseasiassa seuraava yhteinen keikkakokemus häämöttää heinäkuun lopulla, äidin kanssa lähdetään Tampereelle katsastamaan yhdessä juurikin se Nightwish!

Perinteisenä ja aivan uskomattoman ihana sinisenä lakkana on tietysti Zoyan Dream. Varapullo tätä on yhä hankkimatta, mutta onneksi eräs toinen samantyyppinen kaunokainen on jo matkalla kotiin. Kaverina Color Clubin vaaleansininen eli In De-Nile. Kukkien alla on piilossa Peggy Sagen Océane ja kukissa pitäisi Dreamin lisäksi näkyä myös Color Clubin Blue Heavenia. Tässä valaistuksessa hololakka ei vaan pääse kunnolla oikeuksiinsa. Kukat tein leimadecaleina, kerrankin homma onnistui täysin ongelmitta!

Tulipa näistä kynsistä ja kuvista hyvä olo noin muutenkin. Tuntuu, että pitkästä aikaa pääsin taas kiinni siihen missä kynsiharrastuksessa onkaan kysymys. Kuvat näyttävät hyviltä ja kynnetkin onnistuivat. Jes! Ei kai sille mahda mitään, nuo teemaviikot ja tällaiset teemapäivien kynnet on ehkä se omin juttu, heh.

Yes - I'm completely aware of when Mother's Day really is. On November I showed you my Father's Day -inspired manicure, which was a scenery from our cabin. So I wanted to do something for Mother's Day as well. It wasn't possible to get this post done sooner since I was spending the actual Mother's Day at home with my mum. So I'll just say that better late than never and move on with this post. I have had this idea rather clear in my head for quite some time now. Mom likes the color blue (really much) and works with flowers, so why not combine those two together with Mother's Day. The card bought for Mom was also blue, so let's stick with that theme.

When writing this post, I have the new Nightwish album, Endless Forms Most Beautiful, playing from my headphones. It reminds me of all those concerts I have seen with my mom. The most unforgettable is maybe our trip to Tallinn, Estonia, to see Robbie Williams. I had dreamed of that chance for ten years and I got to share it with my mom. I'm extremely happy that I can plan things like going to see Williams or The Rasmus like we did about twelve year ago. In the matter of fact our next gig together is already booked, we're going to see Nightwish at the end of the summer!

The traditional and the most amazing blue polish on my nails is Zoya's Dream. I still haven't bought a new bottle of it, but luckily I have one polish coming to me that really looks the same. I paired Dream with Color Club's light blue polish In De-Nile. There's also Peggy Sage's Océane underneath the flowers. You should also be able to see Color Club's Blue Heaven on the flowers, but you really can't. This lightning isn't the best for holographic polishes. I made the flowers using the stamping decal -technique and finally I made it without any problems!

I really feel good about these nails and these photos. It feels that after a long, long time I finally got back feeling good about doing nail art and understood what's it all about. The pictures look good and the nail art also worked out. Yea! I think I just need to accept that I'm at my best when doing theme weeks or themed nail art for days like these, haha.

#ablecs15 Week 6: I Thought I'd Never

Ihan todella kuvittelin, että tämä viikko tulisi blogin suhteen olemaan taas vähän aktiivisempi. Viikon aikana olin yliopistolla joka päivä parhaimmillaan kahdeksaa tuntia syömättä, tämän jälkeen tulin kotiin ja jatkoin kouluhommien kanssa. Kun se ei vielä ihan riittänyt niin nappasin sitten vielä flunssan ja loput koulupäivät painoin vielä se mukanani. Lauantain makasin koko päivän sohvalla, liian väsyneenä edes katsomaan elokuvaa kunnolla. Kuuntelin lähinnä musiikkia, samaa soittolistaa toistolla. Tänään piti jo vähän ryhdistäytyä, tehdä nämä kynnet ja alkaa valmistautua seuraavaan viikkoon. Viikko ei tule olemaan kovinkaan paljon helpompi, koska nyt pitäisi vielä tehdä kasa hommia mitä en voi jättää enää seuraavalle viikolle. Pienemmästäkin jo vähän väsähtää?

Kun välillä mieli kaipasi vähän lepuuttamista niin tuli pohdittua tätä haasteteemaa. Aluksi ajattelin etten keksi yhtikäs mitään, mutta sitten päätin vetää koko homman vähän överiksi. Voin ihan todella vannoa, että en ikinä ajatellut laittavani kynsille strösseleitä, mutta nyt sekin on sitten koettu ja tehty. Kiitos taas tälle meidän haasteelle!

Muille kynsille tein liukuvärin, valitettavasti ainakana tuo uusi Color Clubin Look, Don't Tusk ei jaksa erottua valkoisesta lakasta yhtään. Mutta yritin valita väreiksi mahdollisimman samat kuin strösseleistä löysin. Ja ei, en pitänyt näitä kynsiä hetkeäkään arkielämässä. Otin kuvat ja otin lakkaukset pois. Ei siis ole jakaa kokemuksia miten nuo kynsillä pysyvät - erittäin huonosti kuvittelisin.

I really, really thought that this week would be easier and I could spend more time with this blog. During this week I spent about eight hours a day at university without eating, after this came home and started working with school again. Like that wasn't enough I ended up getting a flu and have struggled with that. I spent my Saturday lying on a couch, too tired to even watch a movie. I just listened to music, the same songs over and over again. Today I needed to get a grip and start preparing for next week and do these nails. Unluckily for me, next week won't be any easier. I could get tired over a bit less?

When I didn't want to think about school, I thought about this theme. First I thought I wouldn't get an good ideas, but then I decided to go overboard with these nails. I can really say that I didn't ever think using sprinkles on my nails, but now I have done that. I have only this challenge to be thankful for this! I did a gradient for the other nails, unfortunately new Color Club's Look, Don't Tusk didn't have the energy to stand up from white polish. I tried to pick colors as near to the ones on the sprinkles. And no - I didn't keep these nails in everyday life for a moment. When I had taken the pictures, I took these nails off. So I don't have any experience in how these nails keep. I imagine that not really well. What do you think about these nails?

#ablecs15 Week 4: Sporting

Nyt kun Joensuussa ja Kontiolahdella on päällä tämä ampumahiihtohullutus, niin on vaikea edes kuvitella tekevänsä kynsiä millään muulla urheiluteemalla. Katjamaria ehti jo julkaista kynnet tällä Kontiolahden teemalla ja itsekin otin käyttöön samat värit, koska ne löytyvät Kontiolahti Biathlonin logosta.

Koko kynsiasia lähti liikkeelle tuosta nimettömän ampumahiihtomiehestä. En ole ihan varma, että näyttääkö tuo mies nyt kovin hiihtäjältä ase selässä vai sauvakävelijältä jonka selässä on ongelmia. Mutta siinä se nyt on. Tuon miehen kaveriksi halusin vähän väriä, joten siksi valitsin tuo "Kontiolahden värit". Raidat on tehty teippaamalla ja vähän tuntuu siltä, että tein nuo raidat vähän turhankin vaikean kautta, kun jouduin tekemään raidat yksi kerrallaan.

Sitten ihan muuhun aiheeseen. Kynsiblogeissa näkyy yhä enemmän postauksen lopussa kuva käytetyistä lakoista ja tarvikkeista. Pitäisittekö te enemmän sellaisista kuvista ja listoista vai pelkästä listauksesta? Kumpi on kätevämpi ja parempi?

Now that Joensuu and Kontiolahti are full of the biathlonmadness, it's hard to even think about doing this nails about something else than biathlon theme. Katjamaria already posted her own nails about this same subject and I also took those same colors to use since they're the colors of the Kontiolahti Biathlon logo.

This whole nail art started from that man in my ring finger. I'm not completely sure if that man looks more like a skier with a gun on his back or a nordic walker with a back problem. But anyway, there he is. I wanted some color to go with that man and that's why I chose the "Kontiolahti colors". Those stripes are made with nail tape and I'm feeling that I did them a bit too difficult since I needed to do the stripes one at a time.

Then to something completely different. In nail blogs there are more and more pictures at the end of the posts showing what nail polishes and other supplies were being used. I was wondering if you thought that's better than just a list? List or a picture or both? Which way is the best?

As Seen On TV: Supernatural Mystery Adventure Drama

Supernatural Mystery Adventure Drama: Lost

Alusta asti tiesimme, että sekä minä ja Annie halusimme kumpikin tehdä kynnet Lostista. Teemaviikkoon tehtiin siis tilaa vain ja ainoastaan Lost -päivälle. Supernatural Mystery Adventure Drama -kategoriaan ei noin muutenkaan kovinkaan moni sarja mahdu. Lost on siinä mielessä erikoinen sarja, että omistan kaikki sarjan dvd-boksit, mutta en ole katsonut sitä alusta loppuun kuin kerran. Pätkiä sitten sieltä täältä useammin. Olen edelleen hämmentynyt sarjan lopusta, joten kun sarjan tekijät viime vuonna ilmoittivat, että hei, tätä se sarjan loppu oikein tarkoitti, hypin ilosta lukemaan tätä paljastusta. No ei ne mitään oikeasti paljastaneet ja nyt olen entistäkin ärsyyntyneempi. Joten jos teillä on jakaa jonkinlainen tulkinta sarjan viimeisestä jaksosta niin antaa tulla.

On vähän vaikea selittää, että mistä tuo sarja nyt oikeastaan kertookaan. No, lentokone putoaa autiolle saarelle ja siitä sitten alkaa henkiinjääneiden taistelu selvitäkseen saarelta pois. Ja voin sen verran sanoa, että tuo taistelu ei ole todellakaan sitä, mitä ehkä edellisen lauseen perusteella odottaisitte. Ehdottomasti suosittelen sarjaa kaikille, pidin itse siitä todella. Itsellä on menossa jo kolmatta vuotta projekti saada myös poikaystävä tätä katsomaan, vielä en ole onnistunut kuin kahden jakson verran. Jatkan siis yrittämistä.

Vaikka Lostin juoni tarjoaa vaikka minkälaisia mahdollisuuksia kynsille, oli sopivaa aihetta todella vaikea löytää. Kun sitten tein kynnet, niin päädyinkin itsenikin yllättäen Lostin logoon. Ensin tuputtelin meikkisienellä erisävyisiä sinisiä lakkoja päällekäin. Sitten leimasin keskisormeen ja nimettömään kirjaimet ja piirsin saaren niiden päälle. Aluksi ajattelin jättää loput sormet pelkästään sinisiksi, mutta lopulta maalasin aallot niille, koska aaltoja esiintyy myös Lostin logossa. Hyvää kuvaa oli todella vaikea näistä kynsistä saada, mutta tässä nyt huonoista kuvista parhaat.

Meidän teemaviikko oli nyt sitten tässä. Tämä olikin todella hauskaa, pitää ehdottomasti pohtia teemaviikkoja myös tulevaisuuteen. Ennen sitä kannattaa kuitenkin tulla piipahtamaan blogissa myös huomenna, jotain kivaa on tulossa ;)

When planning this theme week Annie and I both knew that we would want to make nails about Lost. There really isn't very much shows that could be put to this "Supernatural Mystery Adventure Drama" -category. Lost is a special show in that way that I have all the seasons (6) on DVD put I have watched it completely only once. I'm very confused about the ending of Lost so when the makers of this show gave an interview last year that they will tell what the ending really means, I was so excited. Well they didn't really give anything away and now I'm even more confused. So if you have some kind of an idea of what the end means, please tell me. It's pretty hard to explain what Lost is about. Well..an aeroplane crashed to a desert island. From there the struggle to survive from the island begins. I absolutely can recommend this show to everyone, I really liked it myself. I have a project going on to get my boyfriend to watch this show. I have tried for three years and so far we have watched two episodes. I'll keep on trying.

Even though Lost's plot gives a lot of things to paint on your nails, it was really hard to find something. When I finally made these nails, I surprised even myself and did these nails based on the show's logo. I pushed different shades of blue to my nails and then stamped the letters to my middle and ring finger and painted the island on top of them. First I thought that I would leave the other nails only blue but decided to paint some waves on them since they appear in the logo as well. It was hard to get a good photo of these nails so here are the best photos. What would you have painted on Lost -nails?

As Seen On TV: Guilty Pleasure

Guilty Pleasure: Gossip Girl

Yläaste- ja lukioajoilta on jäänyt paljonkin tällaisia guilty pleasure -teinisarjoja omaan dvd-hyllyyn, esimerkiksi Gossip Girl ja OC. Vaikka pyöritin päässä myös OC -kynsien tekemistä niin tällä kertaa voiton vei GG. Sarja kertoo porukasta nuoria ja heidän ihmissuhdekuvioistaan. Pakkaa sekoittaa juorusivusto jossa kyseisten nuorten asioita levitellään, sivuston nimestä on sarjakin saanut nimensä. Sarjaa tuli yhteensä kuusi tuontantokautta joiden aikana nämä nuoret ehtivät onneksi kasvaa ja viimeiset kaudet olivatkin omasta mielestäni huomattavasti mielenkiintoisempia. 

Yksi hauskimpia asioita sarjassa on se, että sarjan alussa opitaan vihaamaan Chuck Bassia ja sarjan loputtua Chuck oli ehkäpä se suosikkihahmoni. Luulenpa, että aika monelle muullekin kävi näin. Jos kaipaat sellaista sarjaa mitä voi tuijottaa sen kummemmin ajattelematta niin Gossip Girl on siihen kovin sopiva vaihtoehto. Tämä sarjahan nousi esille myös muodin takia, Louis Vuitton ja Chanelhan nyt kuuluvat jokaisen tytön vaatekaappiin lukioiässä, jepjep. Mutta hauskaa tuota pukuloistoa on sarjassa seurata, etenkin juhlat ovat sarjan parasta muotiantia.

Gossip Girlia olisi kynsillä voinut lähestyä monellakin tavalla kuten leimaamalla laukkuja ja korkokenkiä, piirtelemällä huulia ja xoxo -kirjoituksia kynsille jne. Itse lähdin liikkeelle kuitenkin sarjan "alkuteksteistä" missä pitkin mustaa ruutua huitelee kaupungin valoja pallojen muodossa. Joten minäpä tein sitten niitä kaupungin valoja dotting toolin kanssa. Pohjalle siis vain musta väri ja palloja laittamaan.

Edellisenä iltana ennen näiden kynsien tekemistä tuo reilu viikko sitten katkennut etusormen kynsi lohkesi uudestaan ja jouduin jälleen lyhentämään kaikki hieman jo kasvaneet kynnet. Pitää tarjota kynsille luultavasti ekstrarasvausta ja huolenpitoa, jotta välttyisin tältä kolmannen kerran..Voin kuitenkin todeta, että pidin tämänkertaisista kynsistä kovasti. En usko, että pitäisin näistä yhtä paljon jos ne olisivat täynnä Chanelin logoja tai hiuspantoja. Näissä kynsissä pitää paikkansa se sanonta, että joskus vähemmän on enemmän.

I have some tv shows left in my dvd -shelf from my teenage years. For example Gossip Girl and OC. I could have made these nails from OC, but this time I decided to go with Gossip Girl. The show tells about teenagers living in New York and their relationships. There's a website that reports gossips about these teenagers. The website's name is Gossip Girl so you can guess where the show's name comes from. There is six seasons of this show, during which these teenagers had some time to grow. And I'm glad they did since those ast seasons are better than the earlier ones, I think. I think it's quite fun that I started up hating Chuck Bass and he ended up being my favorite character in the end. And I really think that I'm not alone with this thought. If you're looking for a show that you can watch without thinking too much, this is it. Gossip Girl alsohad much attention because of all the fashion that you can see on the show. Especially all the partys and galas are really something to see. I'm not sure if Chanel and Louis Vuitton are brands that you can see in every 16-year-old girls closet but they're still nice to look at.

I could have done these nails in many different ways. I could have stamped handbags and drawn shoes and lips and written xoxo on my nails. Instead I thought about the intro of the show and those lights of New York. So I did these city lights -nails using dotting tool. Just black nail polish on the bottom and some dots on top. I really like thes nails, this time less really is more. I wouldn't like these nails so much if they had all those things I listed before. Which tv show is your guilty pleasure?

Isänpäivä kynsiblogissa

Kun sain ajatuksen huomioida isänpäivän myös blogin puolella, oli mielessä kaksi eri tapaa toteuttaa nämä kynnet. Joko ottaisin esiin leimauslaatat ja valitsisin niistä sellaiset kuvat, joista oma isä tulisi jotenkin mieleen. Ehkä golfmaila, vene, vasara..Toinen vaihtoehto oli sitten tämä minkä lopulta sitten toteutinkin. Yksi päällimmäisistä asioista mitä isästä tulee mieleen on mökki, jolla koko perhe viettää paljon aikaa, mutta etenkin isä. Kynsillä siis jotain, mitä en todellakaan ole kokeillut aikaisemmin eli maisemamaalausta.

En todellakaan ole hyvä piirtäjä, paperilla tai etenkään kynsillä. Silti halusin toteuttaa tämä kynnet juuri näin. Kynsiltä ehkä saa selville missä kynnessä se mökki nyt oikein majaileekaan ja sen, että sen ympärillä on vettä ja metsää. Ehkä joku huomasi tuon laiturinkin. Kokeilin kuitenkin jotain uutta ja se on hyvä niin. Lisäksi kokeilin sitä hyvästä syystä. Ihan onnistunut kynsisetti siis.

Käytin todella monia eri lakkoja, mutta tärkeimpinä on kaiken pohjalla oleva OPIn My Vampire Is Buff, vihreä Models Ownin Green Tea ja ruskea Models Ownin Pray. MO:t eivät oikein toimineet maalaamisessa paitsi todella paljon kerrostaessa, mutta kävi ilmi, että en omista muita vihreitä tai ruskeita ellei vaaleita sävyjä lasketa. Vesi on tehty Peggy Sagen Océanella (Peggy Sage -merkistä myöhemmin lisää). Lisäksi siihen on lisäilty OPIn Keeping Suzi At Bayta ja Rimmelin Hot White Lovea. Mustaa käytin mökin ja laiturin korostamiseen, se oli China Glazen Liquid Leather, kuten aina. Tein myös muutamia kiviä Color Clubin Lady Holidaylla. Ja lisäksi yritin myös maalailla vähän kaisloja, niihin käytin KIKOn Peach Rosea. Aika monta lakkaa siis tarvittiin näihin kynsiin, mutta näitä tehdessä oli hauskaa ja uuden kokeileminen mielenkiintoista.

So, today's Fathers Day. I had an idea few days ago to do some nail art related to this. First I thought about stamping, but then decided to do some hand painting. Our whole family spends much time in our cabin, father especially. That's how I got the idea to paint the cabin. I haven't tried scenery painting ever before on my nails. I'm really not a good painter and with nails it's even more difficult, but I tried and did something new. I hope you can see the cabin, woods, lake and maybe even the dock. 

I used so many different polishes, you can see the list above. I had OPI's My Vampire is Buff as the base and then added polishes on it. The water was made with Peggy Sage's Océane (more info about the brand Peggy Sage coming up later). Those two are the main colors on which I started to add colors. I used two of Models Own's polishes, Green Tea and Pray. It turned out that I didn't have green and brown in any other brands and MOs weren't the best to do hand painting with but I managed. I'm glad I tried something different and had fun with it. :)
